More about HTTPS
It’s a protocol which encrypts the data of the user’s device while visiting a webpage. The protocol can be activated by downloading an SSL-certificate. As a result, the website becomes a secure place to enter passwords, bank cards data and personal information because a website’s owner receives your data already encrypted.
Usage of secure protocol extension isn’t something new. That’s why almost every browser sends an alert about an insecure connection or doesn’t display ad at all.
What do you need to do?
Change the links of active ad campaigns if you already have an SSL-certificate;
OR
Buy an SSL-certificate and install it on your website using our guide.
Guide
SSL-certificate stands for Secure Sockets Layer, a global standard security technology that enables encrypted communication between a web browser and a web server. When it’s installed on a website you can see a green, golden or grey lock at the beginning of the address line or just a green address line.
If SSL-certificate is not installed on your website you can buy and activate it following 3 easy steps:
Step 1. Choose the most applicable SSL-certificate type:
- Domain verification – Suitable for projects like a personal website with payment acceptance, blog, promotional page; the fastest and easiest way.
- Organization verification – Suitable for medium-sized projects like a forum, an online store, a social network; you will need to provide documents about the company or individual entrepreneur activity to make sure that you have the right to perform commercial activities and process personal data.
- Extended verification – Suitable for large enterprises like banks, retail chains, corporate sites. Issued only for legal entities. On sites with such a certificate, a green line with the name of the company will appear.
Step 2. Send a request providing your organization and domain details to check your website. After the successful check, you’ll receive a notification and your SSL-certificate will get an active status.
Step 3. Install a certificate on your website. Ask your hosting provider for more details about the installation process.
